Coincheck, one of Japan’s biggest crypto exchanges, is extending its drive to non-fungible tokens or NFTs with a recent collaboration with the maker of CryptoKitties.
As per the statement of October 6, Coincheck collaborated with Dapper Laboratories, which created one of the world’s most common decentralized applications released on the Ethereum blockchain.
Coincheck said the new collaboration would take NFTs to the mass Japanese market by offering visibility to millions of its clients. Coincheck aims to merge the CryptoKitties software into the new NFT marketplace. The exchange is already considering the introduction of the Dapper Labs-based Flow blockchain, which is planned to be released by the end of 2020.
Per a statement by Dapper Laboratories, Coincheck ‘s forthcoming NFT would list “just the most trustworthy NFTs,” beginning with CryptoKitties on the latest Flow blockchain. Dapper Labs CBO and co-founder Mik Naayem said that Coincheck will also be partnering with Coincheck to launch a range of other applications, such as crypto art.
In mid-September 2020, Coincheck revealed plans to set up its own NFT platform. The forthcoming marketplace will be supported by a plugin from the EnjinCraft blockchain startup, which will make it playable on selected Minecraft servers.
In August 2020, Coincheck revealed intentions to make an initial exchange offering on the Ethereum Blockchain Network Palette. Palette supports NFT tokens for a wide range of sales related to Japanese manga books, sports and music.
